nauseated and light headed

Last night at work I had a patient who coded on the floor and came to the ICU.  The doctor was doing a procedure, so I had to wear a gown and gloves.  All of a sudden I felt very warm and light headed.  I was afraid I was going to pass out, so I told my preceptor and sat down.  I was so sick.  Every time I lifted my head up, I thought I was going to keel over, but I got better.

I then had to move my patient.  He had a fungus in his nose that smelled so sickly sweet I was gagging.  I almost vomited and a nurse gave me a dirty look.  I told her I worked in a burn unit and this was nothing, but that I wasn't feeling well.  I'm not really ready to go blurting out that I'm pregnant.  I don't know how people will respond, but I may have to.

I just found out I'll be off orientation at the end of Sept, so I'm afraid I won't have a back up when I get nauseated and have to leave the room.  It's not really possible in critical care.
