Nights

Well, we've gotten a start on a somewhat routine for nighttime.  We give Julian a bath (not always with soap) at around 8 or 8:30, which he loves, try to dress him quickly enough so that he doesn't pee on us or cry from getting cold, swaddle him with the velcro swaddlers, read him the Bible while I nurse him to sleep and then place him in the pack n play.  He will sleep 4 hours usually and then the rest of the night is varied, but the next shift is 3 hours and then it's pure chaos.  :)  Hey, I've been happy with that.

Now for days...uggh.  I am having a heck of a time trying to get him to nap.  Take today: he was up at 5ish, we played in his favorite position so he could poop, he pooped all over me needing a bath, then played again.  He nursed for over an hour and we played, but he then was yawning and pulling on his ears.  I didn't want him to get over-tired (the usual), so I nursed him while lying down in bed.  He only slept 10 min on each side, but he nursed again for an hour and a half.  I decided to put him in the Moby and he was fussy, so I went out in the bright sun (covering him up of course), and his eyes closed automatically.  I then figured out how to nurse him in it. Yes, I nursed AGAIN! He fell asleep instantly and got about 30 min (better than nothing) and is nursing again.

Does anyone have tips for daytime naps?

In fun news, Dan and I went out to an Indian restaurant for an early anniversary dinner.  Susan, my God sent neighbor, babysat for us.  We talked a little about Julian and I missed him, but it was awesome.  I was definitely not worried except for Susan possibly having to deal with Julian crying non-stop.  She said he was a bit fussy, but I've seen her and she has the touch.  We came home to a sleeping baby and had a great night!

Julian's 2 month appointment is on Friday.
