Julian will be 5 months tomorrow. He has been crying or whining when he sees us eat, so despite my pediatrician saying wait until he's 6 months to start solids, I decided to try some things. On Monday I gave him a celery stick which he gnawed on for 30 min. Yesterday Dan fed him a little rice cereal and he cried for more. He was holding the spoon and shoving it in him mouth. I wasn't expecting him to eat much since most babies spit it out, but he didn't spit any out and kept demanding more. I didn't want him to get sick, so I didn't give him more, but I really don't know how to do this solid thing. I want to mix baby-led weaning (baby eats our table food) with purees, but I still feel like I know nothing. I think J will gorge himself like he used to do with milk. I don't feel ready for this, but I believe that J is.
Here are some pics from previous weeks.
