- Julian is in size 12 clothes. They are wide on him, but he needs it for the length. I was given 8 fuzzy sleepers in size 18 and so he is wearing those to stay warm at night. They work!
- He is in size 4 Target diapers which are way too big, but he's not peeing through at night anymore. He is pooping through them, so I bought luvs size 4, but maybe I should go back to 3. We'll see.
- He loves all food. Today he scarfed up pulled pork, blueberries and used his teeth to bite chunks of red pepper to gnaw on. I can't say he has a favorite food, he just loves to eat and prefers to feed himself.
- He's pointing and poking stuff. This was a milestone thing we learned from the test at the doctor's office. I made a comment to Dan that he wasn't poking anything and then that day he started poking without me showing him. Ha ha.
- Today he pointed to a tiny ladybug in one of his books that I've never seen and kept pointing at it. I was shocked. Really? Where's the little baby that would just look at the book. Now he's absorbing things and pointing out the cows because he thinks it's funny when I moooo. He also just started pointing at what I point at.
- He says "woof" and "bow" like a dog.
- He's wanting to be like our neighbor (when he was J's age) and take the books off the shelf. You all know that my one battle that I've engaged in has been that he can't eat the books. He actually obeys and doesn't have to be told that anymore. Well, now we'll have to tell him he can't pull the books off the shelf. I used the word no, he stopped, looked at me, looked back at the books, went to do it, I said no again, he stopped, and then I put him somewhere else to play. He was good, but I forgot that I didn't want to use "no" except in dangerous or serious situations. I was surprised at how he actually knew what I was saying. Wow!
- He likes to play while kneeling. He just sits on his legs and plays.
- He still curls his toes like his mama. Dan makes fun about how I curl my toes all the time, and now J does it too. It's hard to get his feet in shoes. Dan didn't want me to put shoes on him until he was walking, but we went shopping and all he wanted to do was hold our hand and walk, so his white socks got icky. Time to put shoes on that will help him grip a bit too.
- He's just starting to cruise on his toys. Our couch is really high, so he doesn't stand at it. His toys are weird shapes, but he still insists on taking a step in between to get around. Scary!
- I forgot if I mentioned naps, but J gets up at 7am, goes down for a morning nap and an afternoon nap. Sometimes he gets a late afternoon nap too. He hasn't dropped any feedings, but is napping longer. He still eats 2 times at night and I'm ready for him to night wean, but I'm not doing anything to start that process. We will celebrate when we get 8 hours of sleep at night, but until then, I'm enjoying all the snuggles at night since J isn't a snuggler.
In other news, my parents were in town for a visit and we had a wonderful time. I was sad that they both got the stomach flu that we had and were down for a couple days. Thankfully they stayed long enough to get special time with Julian and we also got to go on a fun shopping trip. Julian loved giving head bumps to Granny and playing with blocks and legos with Grandpa. He loved his wooden cars that Grandpa made.
Uncle Mike (my brother), Aunt Tina, Hannah, and Lauren sent him a baby animal book and a farm yard set that he loves! He carries the horse and pig around everywhere. What a trip!
