Julian is more of a parrot than ever. Even when it doesn't seem like he's paying attention to a book or a conversation, he blurts out words that were said. The other day he copied everything a 3 year old was doing. He is so cute. I bought a cheap little kitchen (impulse buy...not my personality, but I'm crazy about buying this kid stuff and that is the last thing I want to do.) Anyway, it's awesome to put in the kitchen because he does what mommy does. It has noises that sound like frying and boiling too, so it's just like me.
Dan cut his hair and everyone is saying he looks like a boy instead of a baby. I've thought this for a while, but it's really happening. I know I'll think that he looks like a baby until he's 12 though :)
FYI: I passed my english exam!
In other good news, we got our stuff last Thursday! It was like Christmas times 100 for Julian. He loves his toys, but mostly he just reads his books. I created a little reading corner and he sits there paging through each book. We don't have to wrestle with him looking for attention by standing on books now since they are put back on a SHELF when he's through! I'm glad that battle is done. I've always been the crazy one to pick that battle (treating books well), but I'm aloud one crazy thing ;)
Since there were people in our house while moving all our stuff in, I didn't nurse J for his naps and he was so tired that night he didn't nurse before sleep either. I kept it up, only nursing him in the mornings and now we're a week with only nursing once a day. I'm shocked and thankful! Hopefully we can wean in the next few weeks.
He is obsessed with skin. I have worn a short sleeve shirt and my friend wore shorts the other day and he will stroke skin. He is just fascinated by it. I sense some awkward moments in my future. I showed him his belly skin and leg skin, which he likes, but not as much as other people's.
J is still into music, dancing and singing. We were just with that friend and he was singing away and danced when any music started. I try to play different kinds of music each day and I am singing a lot more these days which feels great! I miss belting it out like the good ol' days.
Coloring is an interesting activity. He likes to hold as many crayons in his hand as possible, but doesn't like to color much. He will not turn the pointy part of the colored pencils to the paper, so he scribbles, but nothing shows. He did have fun with window markers today at his friend's house.
His molars are killing me. He has been very clingy the past 3 weeks and just screams (copying other kids), drools, chews on everything. I have to find that amber necklace that my friend sent me. I just don't know why it has to take months for one tooth to come in.
If I asked Julian if he wanted a particular thing and he actually does want it, he still says no...except when my friend offered him barbecue crackers. He nodded yes and said, "Yehh!" ha ha.
CLIMBING!!! Julian climbs on everything! He climbs on that new toy kitchen. I actually found him standing on it. He can climb onto the kitchen chair. He pulled a box of nappies over to a window and climbed on it to see out. ugghh. We have to watch him so close!
Along with climbing, he insists on going up and down stairs like an adult, but is not coordinated enough. It freaks me out, but he's figuring it out. I wish he'd just crawl on the steep, concrete steps outside. That would be quite a tumble.
Hugs and kisses. Julian loves his stuffed animals. Kitty is still his favorite, despite Dan and my efforts to change that. He hugs them all and gives them pretend food and drinks from his sippy cup. He "wraps" them in his blankie and is a great cuddler. He will be a great big brother someday!!! He also loves to hug his friends and he makes an, "awwwe" sound that he got from me. I say awe when he hugs, so now he awes at himself! ha ha.
Have I mentioned his spectacular hearing and sight before? He can hear any siren or bird or truck and see the moon (even during the day), star/planet, or random things that are far away. I'm always straining to see or hear it because I know he's right even if I don't see or hear it.
Hmmm, I feel as if I'm missing a ton of stuff, but it's just those everyday moments that I'm amazed with because he's growing so fast.
