I was 9 weeks yesterday and I'm just getting more nauseous. It doesn't help that I've had to hold Julian through this sickness for 4 days now. His fever breaks and I end up as soaked as he is and it smells like wet dog. Not to mention he has killer "sick" breath and his urine smells like antibiotics (one thing I always hated the smell of as a nurse). This has not been good for a mommy who is trying to care for her sick toddler while trying to care for her pregnant self.
I read earlier posts while pregnant with Julian that says I was so bloated that I was "showing" already. I feel the same. My stomach gets as big as I was at 20 weeks. It can be so painful, especially with J wanting to be held all the time or in my lap. It will get interesting when my belly is big with the baby.
Other than that, not much to report.
In Julian news, he now knows, without a doubt, these colors: red, yellow, green, blue, purple, brown, black, and pink. Orange is the only color he calls different things and I don't know why. Dan is color blind and messes up orange and green sometimes, but Julian will call orange all different colors...not just one other color.
The other things that surprised me this week is him knowing shapes. He has books and puzzles with different shapes that he has been slowly learning, but I pulled out a wooden puzzle with all sorts of shapes and he put them in their place and said the shape. He knows the following: square, circle, oval, rectangle, triangle, star, and pentagon. He just learned octagon today, but we'll see if it sticks.
Speaking of wooden puzzles, he just started to really be interested in them last week. He would try to push as hard as he could for them to fit and we worked together and he realized he needed to look at them and match them. He now can do them on his own, except for a few tricky pieces.
"Help please". This phrase has been a life saver. Julian has stopped whining when he can't do or get something. Instead of getting frustrated, he says, "help please". It's AWESOME!!! Having a verbal boy has been a huge blessing and I'm not taking it for granted.
Julian counts to 3 consistently as of yesterday. Everything was "one, two, one, two" but now it's 1, 2, 3.
Ok, I should save some for his 18 month post.
