Cuteness

I forgot to mention all the amazing cute things that Julian has been doing for months.

  • He's a hugger!  He'll come up behind me and give me a hug.  If he had his way, he'd lie in my lap all day and hug my belly (the baby).  He can squeeze my neck so tight that I just melt...I mean really melt at how awesome it is to get big squeezes from my baby.
  • He bends down and looks through his legs upside down quite frequently.  He hates our camera, so I never get a photo, but it's so darned cute!
  • He can hammer his hammering block like mad!  I hope he'll be able to be crafty with his hands someday.
  • He has a chalk board/white board as a of a couple of days ago and it's awesome!  He's been coloring in his coloring books, but the chalk and markers are more messy. I think he likes it a bit more...but maybe because it's new (to him).
  • He says "luv u" without prompting.
  • He says, "thank you mommy" or "thank you daddy" even if it's receiving small or getting his bib on (which is not his favorite thing).
  • He was really good at asking for "help please" or using words instead of whining until we all got colds.  He's been whining a lot and I can't for the life of me figure out what he wants.  That has been hard.
  • He cooks "soup" and makes "cookies" in his play kitchen and loves to give them to us to taste.
  • He has a sweet tooth and I hate that.  He LOVES ice cream ("eye neam") and he's only had it 5 or so times in his life.  He takes after his daddy and grandma.
  • I just brought out his puppet that his Grandma Osland made.  I showed him how my hand goes in it and moves it and then we played.  He was in love.  J was so sad (overtired) tonight before bed that he couldn't compose himself to pick out a book.  I got the puppet and he asked to give it a hug, then gave it a high five, picked out a book and snuggled the puppet and went to sleep with it.
  • He's a sensitive guy.  I put the tv on to babysit for the first time in MONTHS (not since he was 9 months or so).  I GOT THE DISHES DONE!!!!  Anyway, Minnie Mouse started to cry and wouldn't stop and he squinted and kept asking me, "ok? ok?"  I said she'd be ok because Mickey was there.  He's the same with all his books.  He sees someone get hurt and asks if they're ok and then hugs the book.  He still won't let me read any David and Goliath stories or Jonah and the fish.  Back to the chalkboard.  We drew ourselves and Dan made me and Julian said, "mommy and baby!" and hugged the board and said, "ohhhh".  ha ha.  Yes, he says, "ohhh" or "awe" with every hug.
  • He has always done a great job at slurping spaghetti, but now he's aware of it and thinks it's hilarious.
Ok, that's enough for now :)
