Tomorrow Miles will be 4 months old! He is turning into quite the person. He still is pretty laid back, but talks a lot and demands more attention. I've been doting on him anyway, so it's working out really well.
Yesterday was the first time he took a toy to his mouth and went crazy with it. He's been chomping on his hands lot and sucking his thumb or two middle fingers, but on both hands. I still shove the paci in so he's not too used to sucking his thumb, but it's nice he can self soothe.
I wish that worked at night, but he's been miserable with a cold for 10 days. We haven't slept well until last night. I actually swaddled him for the first time. I never wanted to take his hands away, but he kept swinging his arms around and waking himself, so I swaddled him with a velcro wrap and he slept 5 hours! So great for us. He hasn't been able to breathe well with the cold and has to be upright so he's not choking, but last night was good.
I wrote about our Auckland trip...Miles' first time (and not last) on plane. He did so well. He didn't even nurse or suck on the paci and was fine. That was strange to me.
His laugh is getting more pronounced, but he still usually saves all smiles for our family. It's funny that he won't hold a smile long enough for me to get a photo of it. All his weekly photos are straight faced. His eyebrows are very expressive though...like his mommy's.
Talking, cooing, making noise is his favorite pass time. Miles actually did that at playcentre. He responds to the sounds other people make and copies some of it. It's so cute and I love it. It just makes him more of a person when he's interacting with us.
Miles still likes TV and will arch his back to see it. I've given up. I don't have it on a lot, but it keeps him entertained and that is the point so I can get some stuff done.
He's in 3-6 month clothing and is tall (long torso, short legs), but I see 6 month clothing in the near future.
May 4th
It's actually his 4 months today!
May 5th
I guess yesterday was busy since I only wrote one line.
- He just started putting toys in his mouth and chomps on his hands all day.
- He noticed his feet and has grabbed them a couple of times.
- His head control is much better. M prefers to face out, so he's on my hip looking around a lot. He has sat in the bumbo a few times, but his back isn't as strong as his neck.
- He won't roll anymore. He still likes tummy time, but won't roll
- M is very content in the stroller.
- I just put him infront of a mirror this past week and the smiles and wide eyes are pretty fun to see. Too bad we don't have our setup like J had at this age. An exosaucer and mirror.
- Johnny Jumpup was a fail...we'll wait a lot longer.
- M pushes more with right leg while left is lazy...just like Julian did
- He loves to look at books that I read J. He really likes his baby faces book. Black and white ones keep his attention too. I hope he's as much of a book nerd as J.
- M blew raspberries (car sound with lips) the other day. So cute.
- growls like a little bear cub
- He'd sleep all day and all night if I held him. He's still very sleepy but AWAKE cooing and smiling at 3 or 4 am.
