14 weeks

This is the first time babycenter.com and thebump.com agree with how big the baby is.  How come it's a lemon?  ha ha.

Thebump.com says the following about the baby at 14 weeks:

  • He's probably sucking his thumb and wiggling his toes in there!
  • His kidneys are making urine, and his liver and spleen are doing their jobs, too.
  • And he's growing lanugo, a thin, peach-fuzz-like hair, all over his body -- it will help him keep warm!
Really there is not much to report.  I feel like my old self.  I am back to my normal eating patterns (not hungrier than usual) and liking salt more than the sweet I was craving.  Actually, sweet things are not sounding good anymore except fruit (probably because I know it's good for me).

Thankfully I have not really had headaches again.  I make sure I'm drinking a lot of water, but that is hard on my really busy days.

My belly is still growing.  Though it's not really a baby in my bump, he/she is pushing up my guts and causing them to bulge.  I can't sit on the couch and bend over to get something off the floor since my belly is growing.  Dan is cute when he tells me not to squish the baby when I try to suck in my gut (which is unsuccessful).  I really have to go shopping soon for maternity pants.  I looked at the thrift store yesterday, but wow, yuck!  I'm not a big fan of 80s/90s jeans.
Here I am sporting the Belly Band.  Dan was at a bad angle so you can't see my guts sticking out as well.
