| Still feeling under the weather. |
Each week something happens to make me realize that the baby is coming soon! Yesterday we went for our hospital tour and I was filled with excitement at all the different birthing "things" that they have to help mothers labor. Bloomington Hospital is quiet progressive and I'm glad since I'm planning a natural, unmedicated, and no epidural birth. I found out that 15% of their births are like this, which is pretty good in the days of westernized medicine. I'm thankful that the rooms are very nice.
This week Dan and I went for a walk and I had some much lower abdominal pain that I thought were Braxton Hicks contractions. I was a bit nervous and had to keep stopping. I realized later that I think I had some round ligament pain. Even though I try to keep up with my exercises, I cannot do anything about the stretching abdominal ligaments. Thankfully they are tolerable, but going for a walk isn't great at the moment.
I've had a week off of hospital work, but I'll be working 3 in a row starting tomorrow. I am not looking forward to it for my back's sake, but I've been resting and exercising, so hopefully it goes smoothly!
My hospital coworkers are throwing me a book baby shower. I am so excited because people will bring their favorite children's book! I'm excited to celebrate this little life again with other people!!! I know he's coming soon!
I cannot get myself to prepare for baby's arrival. Dan asked me to wash start washing the baby clothes and put them away (thinking it would be fun for me), so I went downstairs, looked at the piles of stuff, turned back around and told him I couldn't do it. It was so overwhelming. I'm going to have to ask my friends if anyone is interested in organizing baby clothes. What makes things harder is that each brand size is different, so I have to organize by comparing things to one another rather than using the tag size.
I was reading that the baby is suppose to be growing so much that he may not move as much because there isn't room to move. This is not the case yet. He woke me up last night with the hiccups at 4:30am and then proceeded to dance, roll, and kick for an hour, but thankfully it didn't hurt. Dan came in to say goodbye to me and the baby, but then Nay Nay decided to kick and roll again until I got out of bed. Maybe he got a surge of energy from all the Indian food I ate last night.
Dan and I went on a date last night after the hospital tour. I was afraid I'd be up all night since I stuffed myself with Indian food. I didn't have any heartburn and slept well until 4:30! Does this mean that the baby won't have any hair since I'm not suffering with heartburn? What have your experiences been? I've always heard that the mom gets more heartburn with hairy babies.
Goals:
- Get last minute baby supplies (diapers, diaper bag, and I'm sure other things that I need but haven't realized yet).
- Pack extra clothes for work/school just in case.
- Wash and organize baby clothes.
- Keep exercising.
- Read more books on labor and birth.
- Continuously pray and seek scriptures to quote while laboring.
