I don't know how this pregnancy would have gone without being in physical therapy. I was in so much pain in November that I thought I'd have to quit my job due to my sciatica and previous back injury. Brenda was a life saver and because of her exercises and massage, I have been able to work both of my jobs.
This past week I was off for a week and did not have any pain! I worked Saturday and Sunday night and unfortunately I started my first shift with a code (my patient's heart stopped beating). Thankfully someone else did compressions, but I was BUSY BUSY BUSY. (Side note: He's alive...the team saved him!) I proceeded to be extremely busy both nights and today I was so sore, but it was different. I feel as if I had a hard workout instead of having the nerve pain from the sciatica! I was so thankful! I went to my last PT appointment and I got a wonderful massage and left feeling so content and thankful!
I wish I didn't have to work anymore since I'm so sore and feeling less than up to par (slow, big, unable to get around as I would like, etc.). We'll see if this baby comes early like everyone is predicting or if he cooks to the perfection of a perfectly boiled egg! I just keep praying for God's perfect timing and I am so excited to meet this little man that I feel as if I can endure all this work until then.
The count down: 3 hospital night shifts (13, 19, 20) and 3 Tuesday hospital shifts with my nursing students! I am excited to kick my little students out of the nest and see them soar in their hospital experience! I have so enjoyed seeing them progress and mature into critically thinking student nurses! I am blessed with 2 amazing jobs, even though it is very difficult while being pregnant!
