Diaper Review

Julian was in newborn diapers for a long time.  We started with Pampers swaddlers in the hospital and I had gotten a lot on Craigslist for cheap.  He would leak through every morning onto our bed, so we were changing the sheets sometimes daily.  We learned quickly and placed a towel under him.  After he used up a gazillion swaddlers, we tried the Target brand.  I figured they are almost half the price and what's the difference if he's leaking through the Pampers.  They worked!  The only thing is that they seemed to keep his skin more moist.

When he went to size 1, we used Target brand pretty exclusively with great success, but I used Desitin on him every night to prevent any rash.  It worked, but I hope those chemicals aren't too bad for the little guy!

Now he's in size 2 and we found the Target brand swell up so big between his legs that I'm not sure if they hurt him.  Julian has never been a fusser about a dirty diaper and I try not be neglectful in changing him, though I have been out for too long and not changed him till we got home :(  Anyway, we had size 2 Target brand, Pampers, and Huggies naturals.  The Pampers leaked again when he was asleep (even for 2 hours).  The Huggies Naturals are the best!  They are a bit too expensive, but they keep him dry and there were no leaks, even with exploding poop every morning.

My Baby Bargains Book said the Babies R Us diapers are the best, so I bought size 3 with a gift card.  Julian is 14lbs now, so we'll see, after he gains a couple of pounds, how they work.
