To expand on the pondering, he's just a processor of the world. He'll be playing and then all of a sudden he stops, stares, is quiet for a moment and then speaks something about what he was thinking. When we read books he talks about other event related that we have never talked about and I'm just amazed at how he applies the book to the real world or other things. It's just so fun.
Last week was the first time we put him in children's church (since August). I asked Dan to stay so he wouldn't be attached to me. He didn't care at all that I left and then Dan said that Julian didn't care that he was there so he left and had so much fun. Today we left him again and he didn't care at all. We came to pick him up early because there was a party for the kids. He didn't want to leave, until he saw the other kids leaving. We went into a large room and they put on a show and J was up front dancing and trying to sing the songs he didn't know. He was so happy and clapping for joy. Then there was yummy food and he was drinking from a cup without any trouble. Dan and I looked at each other and said, "when did he start doing that?" After food it was running around with all his new friends and just enjoying life. It was so fun. My little social butterfly is pretty amazing and it's so freeing for me to not have him clinging to me.
