We had a great time though Miles was sick the entire trip. I really felt for him. He had a high fever and pulled on his ears most days. He flew like a champ though. No crying on any of the flights.
- Waves at everybody, but will for sure wave hello and bye-bye. It's so cute.
- Sitting up great and not bending in half like he used to...except when he's tired.
- Stands leaning against couch or chair. He likes that, but I don't put him in that position very much. Dan thinks we should use the Johnny Jump Up more often. We barely use it...poor kid is getting gypped in all ways.
- Says mama and dada.
- He LOVES Julian and always wants to get him or get attention from him. I'm thankful that each week J is more interested in playing with M.
- He sits in a seat at the table and eats with us. His pincer grasp is getting much better, but his choking is frustrating. J did baby led weaning, but M chokes. He choked in the car seat in Oz...it was awful. He was so fussy from all his sickness and just hates the carseat now. Food was the only thing that helped. I sat in the back seat and gave him a mushy french fry but he was already upset and had lots of secretions. He choked on the fry while the car was moving. I pulled him from the seat while telling Dan to pull over. I gave back blows, it came out and then he vomited all over me. Lesson: don't feed your baby food in a car seat no matter how much crying he's doing or how miserable. It was awful and I thank God I kept my calm and just went into nurse mode. I prefer not to be a nurse to my kids.
- He loves to bang things.
- He wants to get into everything, but can only spin on his tummy. I',m afraid of him crawling. I feel like it was forever ago that J was learning to crawl. I have forgotten so much.
- He can sit up from when he's lounging back on an incline.
- He is scared of kid who wore blue goggles and scared of characters at theme parks in Oz. He full out screams.
- He's kicking his legs violently and hitting me in the face when he's upset. It's quite the tantrum. My sweet little Miles can be one angry dude. I was glad to read that J was the same at this age because I was a bit worried.
- He just started to point on our trip. I did a lot of pointing at museums and zoos, so maybe he picked that up.
- He moos when I give him his cow. He is copying me.
- One of the cool things is that he starts to sing to most music. I am terrible and haven't been playing much music lately, but when it's on, he's singing along. It's so cute. He loves Dan's guitar playing.
Again, I feel M is missing out on everything that I did for J. I just don't read much or interact with him like I did with J. Even on our trip, I forgot to show M stuff for the first 3 days. I realized that J was at the Natural History Museum in NYC at M's age and was pointing at everything, but I just dragged this sick baby around and forgot to show him things. When I did show him animals he went nuts. He LOVES animals. All of them.
I love this big smiling cuddler. He is amazing and I feel badly for being mediocre, but I'm excited to see what this next year brings.
