ice storm

I was suppose to work last night (Friday), so I slept Thursday night and most of Friday day time before getting put on call for work.  Dan and I had not been out for a while, so we decided to hit the mall and stroll around.  We have never really done this since moving to Bloomington and I felt as if I had never seen our entire mall (not that it's that big) until last night.

Target had a pack n play on sale that was very similar to the one I was going to order on Amazon, but I thought I'd look into it before buying it.  We found and open box tv that was extremely discounted, so we bought that.  As Dan was lugging the heavy thing outside, we found that there was freezing rain.  We made it to the car without any falls or injuries.  We got home and I was reminded why I love Dan so much.  He is so protective that he slipped his way around the car and helped me get into the house before lugging that heavy tv inside.  The tv ended up not having a power cord and after a couple of calls to Target, they said we should just bring it in for a refund.

We should have just stayed in for the night, but we always find ourselves out during the worst storms.  Dan lugged the big tv to the car again and then diligently helped me without any falls.  After returning the tv, we bought the pack n play.  It's the same brand/model I was going to buy, but it was a different color, so I saved $70 with it being on sale. When we got home, I thought our neighbors must think we're crazy lugging in huge boxes in this ice storm, but it was a fun evening.

Now it's 4:30am and I'm wide awake.  I work Sat and Sun night, so at least I'm rested.  I was very thankful that I didn't have to work last night.

Baby has been so active (maybe because mommy sleeps so much) that I laugh at how much he moves.  I play with his little feet that stretch out and warp my abdomen.  Last night I felt that he was either seizing or whirling around because my stomach was in constant motion (that was a little more worrisome than thrilling just because it was nonstop), but I guess that's what little boys do.  I can tell what is a foot, but I wish I could see how he's positioned since one moment I feel him in one area and then there is movement is a completely new area.  He was head down at the last ultrasound appointment and I think he has remained that way, though I cannot figure out the different punches and kicks.  Two nights ago my stomach bulged way out to the right and he had his back/bottom pushed firmly against my abdomen.  My belly was rock hard and Dan and I laughed as we rubbed him as he remained that way for awhile.

I guess I'll try to snuggle in bed for a bit until Dan gets up.  I'll be sleeping for part of the day today for my work tonight and would rather be sleeping now so I can spend time with Dan today instead.  Here's a picture of the pack n play.
If you've never assembled a pack n play before, make sure you read the instructions first.  We will never forget that experience!  ha ha!

  2. We won't have a crib. The PNP is it for the first year...at least. It does have the vibrating bassinet and 6 sounds. I also do not have a changing table, so that is why I got that on there too.
