34 weeks and appt

I'm very sleepy (only 4 hrs of sleep), but this shows how warm it  has been this week!

Babycenter.com states he's 4.75 lbs and 18"
What's a durian?  I really have to learn these fruits/veggies!

I had my 34 week appointment yesterday.  My midwife used a hand held ultrasound to check to see if the baby is still head down and YAY, he is!  I was very excited about this news.  She also has started her marathon of babies being born, but was very patient during the appointment and didn't rush at all.

I am now on weekly appointments.  I thought that wasn't until 36 weeks, but I guess it starts now.  We'll have a baseline for where I am with the next appointment to see if anything is changing, but as our childbirth classes state, I could be 2 cm dilated but it doesn't mean anything.  I will not be getting weekly checks, but we'll have a starting point next week and then check at 39 or 40 weeks.

Wt: 141.6 lbs
BP: 102/68
Fundal Ht: 35 cm (wow, 3 cm, though I suppose there is a lot of subjectivity to this)
Baby HR: 140s

34 weeks is bringing a few more changes.  The sore news is that I'm getting more uncomfortable. The pain that I've been dealing with in therapy came flooding back, but on the opposite side and I was hurting a lot last night.  I came home exhausted and baby decided to make an accordion out of my abdomen and stretched and kicked like a crazy creature.  He hurt me a lot and Dan felt badly since he was holding my belly to try to "contain" him, but I think it made the baby more angry or more willing to "play".  I did get 4 hours of sleep, so he must have eventually calmed down.  My belly is getting bigger and people cannot help but make comments.  I'm enjoying the positive attention, but I am feeling big.  Our birthing class raved about big babies and how they adapt to the outside world so much better than little ones, which helped the stigma in my head about having a big baby.  They also said big babies are not harder or more painful to deliver...hmmm.

The diaper bag arrived today.  I followed the Baby Bargains Book and got one from Lands' End (it's not like me to spend this much money, but some things are worth the money!).  I did find a free shipping coupon online, so I still kept some money saving habits alive.

Today was so perfect.  I spent hours outside talking with my friend who lives next door.  She is a mom of a one year old and I have so much respect for her as a person, mother, and Christian.  It is such a blessing to have such a great person just a few steps away and I look forward to our kids playing together.

Well, 2 shifts left (Fri and Sat) to finish off my last 3 day week!  I'm hoping this sciatica subsides and that baby doesn't get too angry with his growth that is constricting his movement.  Oh, he is just amazing and I cannot wait to meet this little one!  As for a name, it's looking more like we won't have one until he's born.  It's down to 4, but we will arrange them later I guess.
