Alone

Dan went to New Zealand for a job interview, so Little J and I are on our own.  It is going well.  I've had so much help from friends, so it's been great.  It started off rough since I worked Friday night, came home and took Dan to his shuttle, and then slept only 40 mins with Julian as he napped.  Even though he takes his 3-4 naps per day and goes down easily, he decided to boycott naps that day and I was running on 30+ hours of no sleep.  I was a mess.  I felt so hopeless and so tired.

Sunday was good.  We had two church services (am and pm) and I was so tired of holding him.  Dan usually hold him through the service.  It was good though and J played with some babies.  I didn't even try to put him in the nursery.  I don't think I will for a while since I'm more stressed waiting to get called then just taking in the service while holding him.

Yesterday I hung out with my great neighbor and she watched Julian while I made lasagna.  Julian was ok, but can be a bit crazy when I'm in the kitchen.  I left her place a mess, but left full and satisfied not only with good food, but with GREAT conversation!  What a blessing she is to me!

Today I tutored a former student and she brought me pizza, breadsticks, and brownies as payment.  YES!  Yum!  I was then invited over to a friend's house who have a 19 month old and they made me great food and we had fun playing with their son...except Julian was more yelling at him.  I'm not sure why, but he was in an ornery mood until he started eating.  They made squash and cauliflower and Julian ate it up.

Tomorrow is more low key, but I have some leftover lasagna and some stuff in the freezer.  Thursday a friend is coming over to help me cook lunch and then I'm going over to a couple's house for dinner.  Their baby is Julian's age, so hopefully he plays well with her.

Friday, Julian sees the doctor about his surgery and then we pick up Dan in the late evening.  It's so late that there isn't a shuttle to Bloomington, so we'll be making the drive.  I pray that J sleeps!

What a wonderful family we have in Bloomington and all across the world.  We are so blessed by amazing people in our lives and I don't know what I'd do without them.  May I always have my eyes open to be a blessing to others because I have been given so much.  I'm reminded of this post.
