I know toddlers explode with learning, but I can't keep up. I feel as if I could post weekly. Now that we're far away, maybe I should do that. Anyway, Julian's language skills are amazing. For months now we have said, "where is the ...?" and he would point to that picture or object. Now I can point to that object and ask what it is and he says the name. He's also starting to say what the animal is...not just the sound it makes. His favorite animals now are a goat and bees. I have no idea why the goat, but we have huge bumble bees in our flowers, so that may be why.
He can now say his first full sentence. We'll ask him where something is and if he doesn't know, he puts both hands up in the air, shrugs his shoulders, and says, "I don't know." ha ha. I NEED to get this on video. He can also say, "all done" after he's done eating. This is GREAT!!! Now I actually know when he's done instead of playing the guessing game. He also lets me clean his hands and face without having to sing at the top of my lungs or act crazy.
He sings and dances and plays drums and his ukulele. The kid loves music. We blast "William Tells Overture" and blow our horns (toilet paper rolls), race horses (his toy horse or gallop around the room), and pretend to play violin. ha ha...we are missing his toys! :) He loves The VeggieTales theme song, Curious George theme song, and disney songs. He doesn't mind me singing at the top of my lungs to any of them either, which is a plus for me.
He is the SWEETEST boy ever. I don't know if I wrote this before, but I hit my head and whispered, "ouch" and he came over, sat in my lap, and patted me. He is giving hugs to anyone who asks. He kissed his friend the other day and hugged him. He plays so well with others that I'm not worried that he'll hit anyone anymore. That book, "Hands Are Not for Hitting" worked! (He now is hitting objects when he's mad and it usually hurts his hand, so I hope he learns that all hitting isn't beneficial). Anyway, we are just so proud of our sweet little boy.
