- Julian's skin around his mouth breaks out into a rash from rice cereal, even mixed with breast milk. This is strange to me since rice is pretty much non-allergenic.
- He is napping pretty well. I take him upstairs, sit in a dark room (no rocking or bouncing), give him a pacifier and if he's fussy, I shhush and pat his butt rhythmically. It works like magic.
- He just napped for 2 hours for the first time today. I had to keep checking on him even though we have a baby monitor. I got a lot done!
- Night sleeping is just puzzling me. He goes to bed around 8 (we've started bath time around 7 or 7:30 now) and eats at 2, 4:30, and 6:30 give or take. The problem is that he is up almost every hour, so we have to get up and put the pacifier back in his mouth. He's swaddled (only at night), so he can't soothe himself, but he doesn't during naps either. he just shakes his hands and fusses or cries until I come and get him. This is exhausting. Poor Dan got home from soccer at midnight, was helping me all night, and had to get up at 6 to teach all day. Uggh. I need to come up with something different, but I'm not sure we're ready to give up the swaddle. I guess if we're getting up every hour, the swaddle isn't working. Time to put 10 pacifiers in the pack n play and hope he learns to put them in his mouth when he's upset.
- J is soooo loooong! He fills up the pack n play. Where did my baby go?
- The nuby mesh feeder has helped a lot with separation anxiety. Even though I'm not really giving him solids, I put an apple, frozen peach and frozen pineapple in the mesh feeder and it keeps him busy for 30-60 min. He LOVES food.
- He hasn't been nursing well the past few days and has been fussy. I can't feel any teeth bumps, but it just seems like he teething. I guess we'll see.
- He loved "bouncing babies" at the library. He got to spend time singing, clapping, dancing, reading, and playing with other babies. I really liked it too!
- His separation anxiety is awful. As soon as I stand up to walk away, he cries and has big crocodile tears pouring down his face. Poor guy! He's a mama's boy.
