20 weeks: Halfway Point!

Yes, I am halfway through the pregnancy!  Sometimes I feel as if it has flown by and other times I think, wow, I'm only halfway there and I'm going to get really big.  Again, my pregnancy has been a breeze!  It is so awesome to feel the baby all the time now!  I wanted to sleep more today since I worked last night and work tonight, but the baby was kicking and wanted me to get some breakfast.  I can't turn down eating.

My back is still quite troublesome.  I've been to two therapy sessions.  The last one was great because she massaged my hips back into alignment and then taped me with this tape that can stay on for 5 days.  I had an easy night at work, but still ended up in pain.  It can be so frustrating because there is no relief once it starts getting out of control.  I could barely climb into bed this morning, but the heating pad and rest helped and I'm ready to do it again tonight.

Other belly issues include an itchy belly that is slathered in lots of different products with cocoa butter.  I also feel the stretching which could be round ligament pain.  My belly was so bloated one evening, and I though my belly button was going to pop out before my eyes.  I've never been able to see the inside of it before :)  It still hasn't popped, but I'm sure it will.  I think I have also had a couple "contractions".  They are called Braxton Hicks contractions and are completely normal, but I felt the tenseness.

In other news, this was the last week of classes, so I have papers to grade this week and next and then I'm on vacation from IU for a bit.  Unfortunately, I am book solid through December and January, so there is no real break, but I'm so excited for all our visitors and travels!  We're not really celebrating Christmas this year.  I work and Dan will be off to North Dakota for his cousin's wedding...brrr.  We will be going to Philadelphia after that and his parents and Lynsi will visit us in January!

Who's excited for Monday?!?!

  2. Thanks Jodi! I'm not the best planner while working night shift, so it seems I'm always in my scrubs when I take my weekly photo. This time I was ready for work, but threw on maternity pants instead of the scrubs for the photo :)
